MANAGING STRESS

In place of our normal "Thomas Tips," this issue is going to take a little different twist and give you something special.  At the 2002 AHRA annual meeting in New Orleans, Paul Thomas was asked to give a talk.  This was a very special occasion as it was the first time Paul had given a talk of any kind since his stroke in late January 2002.  At the request of many who attended this session, it was decided to add his presentation to our web site.  So, click here; and, while you will not be able to hear Paul give the presentation, we hope that by seeing it again you can remember how great it was to really be there.

(You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view
the presentation.  Click here for the free download.)

In addition, there were many requests to get a copy of the poem that Paul read at the end of his presentation.  This poem, whose author is unknown, reminds all of us that, even though we may not always get what we want, we do get everything we need.

I asked for Strength
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom
And God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity
And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage
And God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love
And God gave me Troubled People to help.
I asked for Favor
And God gave me Opportunities.
I got nothing I wanted,
But I received everything I needed.
