| Evaluating
the PACS Vendors
Our focus at The Thomas Group is not to tell you which
PACS you should purchase. We are not PACS sales
personnel. The Thomas Group’s goal is to neutrally guide
you through the PACS process so that you are better prepared
to make an educated decision regarding your PACS
project.
There are many diverse PACS offerings on the market and
the healthcare community has many diverse needs. As your PACS
Implementation Specialists, The Thomas Group is here to
provide you an unbiased forum to discuss and evaluate the
various PACS offerings. We have worked with all of the major
PACS vendors. We know their product offerings, their
corporate structure and their pricing patterns.
Before your facility actually awards a PACS contract to a
vendor, we will have had the opportunity as a group to
discuss the vendors in several different forums.
|
The
RFI allows you to compare side-by-side the
semantics of the various vendors. |
|
On-site
demonstrations provide you with a chance to
speak to vendor representatives and view the
functions of their Diagnostic Review Stations. |
|
Vendor
site visits expose you to an actual
"live" PACS site. |
|
The
RFP allows you to compare "apples-to-apples" pricing of the various vendors. |
During
each of these steps, we help you sort out the information
being presented and make sure that you have asked all of the
correct and important questions that will ensure you are
purchasing a PACS that will meet your current and future
needs.
When your facility is ready to award your PACS contract,
we have your PACS committee take a final vote on which
vendor to choose. As each vote is cast, we ask each member
to justify his/her answer. And, while we do not make
recommendations, we will let you know if you have made a
decision on an incorrect assumption. We will then negotiate
the contract on your behalf. We have extensive experience in
negotiating contracts and know the questions to ask that
will affect your bottom line. Remember, while you may
install a PACS only once, The Thomas Group has
installed PACS numerous times.
